Faster hair growth and healthier hair.

I decided that I wanted to grow my hair again about 2 years ago, but I’ve been struggling and feels like I don’t really see any growth.  But this all changed when I made some changes in my hair care routine, and I thought why not share it with you guys!!
So if you want to grow your hair or just get healthier hair here are some of my tips, hope they work for you too!!

·         Don’t was your hair everyday
Yes I know to some of you this might sound jucky, but washing your hair everyday is really not good for your hair.  As it strips your hair of its natural oil and washing it to often might dry your hair out.  And think about it, when you was your hair then you most probable use a hair dryer and an flat iron to dry and style your hair, this means that you add heat to your hair, which is also not good.

·         Try to stay away from Heat as much as possible!!
Heat Styling is not good for your hair.  Heat will dry out your hair and heat is actually frying your hair! TEST IT!! Take your finger and use your Flat Iron on it and I promise you that you will burn your finger.  So just imagine what it does to your precious hair.  So if you must try to use your blow dryer and flat iron and all other hot tools at most once a week.  And if you have to use a heat on your hair then please use a good Heat Protector Spray.

·         Let your hair air dry as often as you can
Air drying your hair is so much healthier for your hair than putting all that heat and drying air from your hairdryer on it.  I know for most of us it is difficult as we all have hair that has a personality of its own.  But you can air dry your hair and put it in a nice pony tail or bun or some other exciting hair style.

·         Use a Deep Conditioner/Hair mask at least once a week
Deep Conditioner is so good for your hair and would help to put back some of the nutrients it loses from everyday wear and tear.

·         Use a hot oil treatment every two weeks
You can make your own hot oil treatment at home.  Take some Olive Oil, about half a cup will do (if you have longer hair), heat it up in the microwave for about 30 seconds.  Put it on your dry hair.  Then wet a towel and place the towel for about 1 minute in the microwave.  Take the heated towel and wrap it around your hair.  Leave it in for about 20 minutes, then was out with shampoo and then use conditioner.

·         Use a leave in conditioner
Always use a leave in conditioner after you have washed your hair.  You can also make your own leave in conditioner by mixing a quarter conditioner and the rest water.  Put it in a spray bottle and there you go.

·         Drink some Vitamins
You can take a Hair, Skin and Nail Vitamin or you can also use a Pre-natal Vitamin, doesn’t matter if you are not pregnant, it won’t cause any harm, its only vitamins.  Also drink some sort of Fish Oil Vitamin like Salmon Oil Vitamins.  Your body needs the Omega 3 that you find in these vitamins for the healthy functioning of the eyes, skin, joints and hair.

·         HAIRFINITY
Hairfinity is a lovely vitamin that helps your hair to grow faster and healthier, they are a little pricey but defiantly worth it.  I have seen only good reviews about these vitamins and I just ordered my first bottle last week.   Can’t wait to get them and to try them out.  You can buy Hairfinity at www.hairfinity.com

·         Drink a lot of Water
Yes I know that a lot of you don’t like to drink Water but water is so good for your body and it is also good for your hair as it will give some extra moisture to hair.

·         Trim your hair only when needed.
I personally feel that it is not necessary to trim your hair every 6 weeks like a lot of people say.  I mean it takes your hair about a month to grow half an inch and if you cut it chances are that you going to cut of at least half an inch, so what is the use.  Look at the condition of your hair and only cut it when you feel it is necessary and when you are trying to see a lot of split ends.

·         Splitender
This is another great product that I found online while searching for some hair care advice.  You use this tool to trim your ends yourself.  Use it once a month. It basically cuts of about 1 eight of an inch of your hair and what is best is that you can do it yourself.  To find more information about the Splitender you can go to www.splitender.com

·         Make your own hair mask/deep conditioner
You can make your own hair mask by taking some Mayonnaise, 1 egg , half an avocado or avocado oil and mixing it all together in a blender.  Put it on your dry hair and leave it on for 30min and then wash out. You will be amazed at how soft your hair will be.

Hope this all helps you.  You are welcome to leave your comments or to leave your advise on how to grow your hair and how to have healthy hair.
